Some of my good friends and colleagues in The Merchant of Venice
On April 22nd, in Al Multaqa Social Club, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, my friends and colleagues appeared in the Shakespeare comedy, The Merchant of Venice'. The performance was crisply delivered and entranced the audience, who loudly applauded at the end of the play. Let us hope that the players can be prevailed upon to give us some more Shakespeare as soon as possible. It was greatly needed and much appreciated.
This is my tribute to them.

The whole thing was absolutley marvellous - well delivered, crisply executed, professional, and everyone I spoke to who went said exactly the same.
The backrom guys did well - Dale Taylor and Angela Kent, plus the prompter, Tingay Davidson, who had nothing to do on the night but who worked equally hard through the two months plus of rehearsals.
Dan Daw and the others I did not mention in the review due to considerations of space, are all equally deserving of praise.
It was a great show!
